Do I need dentures?

Tooth loss can happen due to a number of reasons. Dentures are artificial teeth which fit over the gums helping you to eat and speak comfortably and confidently. They’re easy to clean, you can eat everything you used to and if you still have some teeth left, a partial denture can help to evenly distribute pressure, preventing excessive wear on your remaining natural teeth. One of the biggest benefits is that they support good oral health. Missing teeth put you at greater risk of developing gum disease, and without any structure, facial muscles can also start to sag. Adding dentures is a quick and easy solution to these issues.

How does my denture appointment work?

Dentist and patient using mirror

We start with an initial appointment where we can take impressions of your mouth to make sure your new denture is comfortable to wear. Once we’ve taken these, they’re sent off to specialist dental lab to be made. When they’re ready, we’ll let you know so you can come to the surgery, make sure they fit perfectly and discuss aftercare. Our dentists will then book a follow up appointment, where we can check and see how you’re getting on with your new teeth and look at any potential adjustments. If you’d like more information about new or replacement dentures, contact our team in Camborne.
